I'm not dead!

Morning everyone

So, you're wondering why this place looks a bit empty?
I'll tell you why.

Because not much new has happened.

You can partly blame me for that, but I am trying to plan out how I want this place to develop so I'll need to have much discussion with Zenron.
I was thinking of making the so-called "developers" less powerful, because let's look at it this way: anyone who makes something here "develops" it themselves, and if we provide the same kind of exposure to all our users then they might become inspired by our (we, the official NH developers) work and feel they want to have a go at contributing themselves.
You might be thinking "but any newcomer won't have a clue how to make a game or animate well, or even want to spend $$$ on buying Flash". Uhuh, which is why maybe we could merge the Games and Toons section into 1 Flash section?
Then, to make up for it we WILL have an Audio section (already got it planned out) and then how about a Literature section? I could also create a proper method of Interactive Fiction games which we've had a go at in the Forums (i.e. the site only allows 1 response to be posted at a time or something).

So, in that sense there's lots more for people to have a go at. Also I'd like to introduce a Photography category in the Art section, but I feel I'll need to revamp the categories anyway to have sub-categories etc.

Also, if we encourage people to have a go at these things, what about a community-driven Tutorials section? Where people can share their experience at e.g. animation techniques, artwork techniques, using Flash / an audio program etc. to help others develop their skills
Or would you prefer the current "Developers" to manage this section so it doesn't get horribly messy?

I want to put a bit more emphasis on using Flash, Art, Audio and Literature to express your feelings and ideas, with a little section showing you what's new with your friends. So, an artwork-driven social networking section. But would you want to have Status updates or not? If not, then we can eliminate all the spam from other social networking sites and let people concentrate on their own works rather than a sad, 1-line textbox.

I have written this in the trust that anyone who reads it is honest and respectful about the ideas I've put here - please do not copy or steal any ideas written here. The information is only here to get a better understanding how YOU want NH to progress. Anything even remotely stolen will not bode well for you
