Maybe Flashtoo you could do bug testing instead if it was in AS3.


I don't really have a problem with not being very important to the collab. Beta tester is a good enough role for me.

I'm very good with AS2, I started out with AS2 for like a year or whatever and then just switched to AS3 like 10 months ago. So i'm fine with AS2.

It'd be very cool to learn how to efficiently work with another scripter too, even if it is in AS2.

Well I'm ready as soon as the toast attacks get finallised. With the man I've got a good idea but once his move set is out I'll improve it and show you with a page of .gifs if thats fine with you all?

Basic- He's a guy in a dark army uniform with a red armband. He hold a gun(or cannon) in one hand and a sign post in the other, the sign has the logo Kurai drew on it. (Melee attack with it? works on little toast mobs?)

General
How fast-paced is it going to be?
What's our target audience? (Including ESRB rating)

Character-specific
Are we going to make our character develop during gameplay (like the toaster, get new weapons or something)?
Are we going to have unlockable characters to increase replay value?
What are the controls going to be?
Legal to drink!

I would say target adience: teens, ESRB: 13+
This is because making it too violent would disable people under a certain age play it ligitimatly, which means we would lose a chunk out of our audience. On the other hand, making it not violent enough may make an older part of our audience unhappy as most shooting - boss battle games have resonable amounts of voilence to add that nice feel.

Thats my opinion anyway

With character specific desisions I think if you, woadraiders and Dimeck can handle unlockable characters and character development then go for it

I don't think we need any violence in it. Just 'cos it seems like it'd suit a joke, easy going theme.

But to attract older players. How about "nightmare mode" stupid amount of gore, and a harder difficultly, a slight dark filter over the game? Days goes to night? Just so hard mode is a little more than just a dificultly change, and the older players have somthing to enjoy.

Kurai are you any good at blood + gore special effects? If not we can ask someone else

and @Flashtoo no sorry we'll use this forum thread until I make a 'Discussions' section to Projects.

Pretty straghttforward:
-yes to character unlockables,
-yes, Toastzilla will develop as the game progresses,
-medium paced so we can stretch the game out for around 5 -10 minutes,
-Teen 13+ sounds fine to me, although warn people about the amount of gore involved in 'Nightmare Mode'
-Controls? How about arrow Keys to move left, right and to jump. A S D for various attacks

Side-note: Fast Forward buttons added across all the forum pages. Woop woop!
